Saree care
A saree is six metres of fabric that has to fall correctly, and the thing that ruins it is rarely the cleaning. It is the finish. Sarees are dry cleaned individually here, kept off the bulk line, and finished by hand so the drape survives the process. Zari, thread work and stone work are checked before anything goes near them.
What is included
- Silk, Kanchipuram, organza, tussar, cotton and khadi

- Cleaned one garment at a time, never mixed into another customer load
- Zari, thread work and stone work inspected and protected before cleaning
- Finished by hand, because a machine press flattens the fall out of a saree
Questions
Do you clean a saree with the rest of the load?
No. Sarees are dry cleaned individually. That is the whole reason they are priced per piece rather than by the kilo.
Do you provide starching?
Yes, where the fabric will take it. Some fabrics will not, and sarees that are prone to colour bleeding are not always suitable. We assess and test the fabric where we need to and tell you before we go ahead, so nothing is starched on an assumption.
Do you do saree darning and dyeing?
Through a specialist partner, and in bulk only, so it is not a service we can offer on a single piece. Send us what you have and we will tell you honestly whether the quantity works.
